 I woke up feeling better, but felt a very little sick later. Apparently I looked worse than I felt. … zil

We had a rather good talk on tactics by Major Kerridge in JTC re: infiltration and then deploying. … zct

 

Friday 7th

I read ‘Wuthering Heights’ in the 12-1 [the hour before lunch was sometimes free time]. Wood unsuccessfully sand eel hunted with T for the gull, whose wing B had bound with adhesive tape. zbn zwl zmt

… the ‘Chinese Magician’ gave his show. I got a good seat fairly near the front between a radiator and B. Wood was with Smith—although he’s usually quite friendly he never seems to want to do anything or go anywhere with me. He did some quite clever conjuring tricks. … zth zfr zop

 

Sunday 9th

… My boils were anti-floed [treated with anti-phlogiston] after breakfast, and the little one squeezed. The big one is still rather painful, and not ready to be squeezed. That will be nasty. … zil zmt

I got some fresh bramble leaves for Cruickshank’s caterpillar … zwl

I read after tea ‘Pride and Prejudice’. zbn
