A terrific sunrise. Stubs of cloud of all colours from pink and orange to deep purple surmounted by a light turquoise sky. … Immediately after rest I biked to town and was innoculated. Didn’t hurt at the time, but rather stiff afterwards. … zwr zmt zcy
Tuesday 26th
… In the evening I had a Winter [senior prefect] jaw, he accused me of being lonely. I said I wasn’t, which is true, and also that I would like to share a study with Wood next term. … zsd zem zfr
Wednesday 27th
… After third prep came up [to the dormitory]; T and R had filled my bed with bits of wood. I lost my temper with T, pulled his bed to bits, and threw a sponge at him. I went out of the room for a minute, and when I got back my bed was full of water. Miserable night, until I took one of T’s blankets. zfg zmb zem
Thursday 28th
… I began to feel a bit queer. I did not eat much lunch, and then there was Corps. We learnt how to shoot from Mr. Oakley, as we are going on the Range next week. I discovered that my left eye is much better than my right, so I am going to shoot left-handed. zil zct zwp ztc
I felt pretty sick after Corps, but went up to periods [classes]. I had to go out in the middle of French, and was sick on the way down to the Bay. Had diorhhea [See note]See note all day. San at 6.15. zil
Friday 29th
… dozed until about 8.10, when I had one charcoal pill and about a table spoonful of pepperminty medicine. The doctor came at about nine, then I zmt zil
