Saturday 27th

Not a very nice day, rather sultry and dark, but quite warm. … In the afternoon Margaret and Kenneth came on the river with me. They got some weed from ditches. … zwr zbo

At 6.30 the others (except N and M) went to see a G.B. Shaw play. We had supper earlyish and listened to Garrison Theatre [a radio comedy series, broadcast by the BBC Forces Programme]. … zth zrd

We are not doing very well in Norway. zwe

 

Monday 29th

A misty morning, rather murky all day. … zwr

After lunch Mommy and I did my clothes until 3.30 when we went and had tea after which Dr. Bassadone, Kenneth and I went on the river. We had a naval battle and all got pretty wet. Good fun. zbo zrg

Nora was feeling ill or something, and was rather cross all day, and until he went on the river Dr. Bassadone was terribly mournful, and poor Mommy was rather desperate. She was OK  in the evening though. … zfl zil zem zrg

We are doing a little better in Norway. zlb
