Monday 1st

… I went to Frank in the first part of prep to have my maths paper corrected. He wants to get Daddy’s opinion about his arthritis of the hip, which seems to be extremely painful. He liked Daddy’s ‘Fears May be Liars’—in fact he admires Daddy a lot. zfl zmw zil zmt zby

 

Tuesday 2nd

… Max jaw. (a) I’m aloof. (b) I’m selfish. … By aloof he means I don’t mix with the rest of the house well. Considering (a) their lack of interests and (b) their lack of morals (this applies to some 30% of the possibles for mixing with) and (c) their unattractive personalities, I’m not surprised or ashamed that I don’t. I do occasionally go out with crowds, but am not usually well received or happy. Perhaps I suffer from (c) but actually I think its just that the effort of talking about uninteresting things is too great. … I remained comparatively polite and uncommunicative throughout.
