No; there were not any raids. It has now completely thawed, and we played beach hockey sometimes in breaks etc. … zmb zwr zsp

Saturday 24^th

… Con club this evening, Mr. D’Aeth was there and [we had a talk by] an old boy, Christopher Swainson, just back from the Maginot line [border fortifications in France]. He showed us a medal he got for being in the Maginot Line. He told us what little he could. He was very nice, short and stocky. I wonder if he will last out the war; he goes to France on Monday. zcl zlu zlb zwc
