… we discussed with Mr. Candler the Yugo Slav who spoke in Soc. Soc. last night. … [Mr. C] spoke to him afterwards, and brought out two points: (1) The Mihailovič [royalist] regulars still fighting don’t work with the partisans. The latter are revolutionary and disapproved of by the government here. (2) The ‘free’ governments will have no say in Europe [after the war ends], because leaders will have arisen. … I am doing the house cuttings book each week (things from newspapers)—must get some from the ‘Daily Worker’! A good chance of getting the right (or rather left!) point of view across. znw zsu

… Saw a nice [religious] tract in the morning—the motor car is a sign from God—chariots of steel and fire = internal combustion engine. Also Russia, Germany, Turkey and Persia are going to attack Jerusalem, but zrl zgk zmo
