While the 3rd cup of soup was being poured out a piece of string appeared in the thermos. On being pulled, it turned out to be attached to a mouse. We kept the soup for Tinker—and found a second mouse later—’Terrible food shortage—reduced to mouse soup.’ A pity, for the soup was up to Mommy’s usual standard. … zfl zfd zgk
