[In London] … We saw Daddy in his rooms—he was going to leave for Redhill soon; and then went to Fry [dentist]. My teeth were all alright. zfl zmt
We had lunch and then went to see Disney’s ‘Fantasia’. It was pictorial impressions of music—very very clever and most of it very nice. We tried to get tea at Victoria, Mommy got furious with a rude waitress and left the first tearoom, and was pretty angry at the next, where we were not given clean plates. Arrived at Glatting at about 8 o’clock—but Margaret stayed in London with Mrs. Mapother to see the tailor tomorrow. zfl zfm zem zop
Wednesday 20th
After breakfast I went to see Mr. Fawkes, to ask if I could help with the harvest. He said not today, you can come if you like later. In fact nobody really wants me to help. When I got back I mended one of the orchard gates. zhk zdc
During the afternoon I read in my house, and practised with the air pistol. I find that I’m much more accurate when standing than when lying down using two hands. … zwp
