Friday 14th

… Last night we stayed up arguing until midnight. … Mommy and Tom got furious with one another so Tom left. We were all arguing in various shades against Mommy, the point being that Mommy thinks that the Revolution should be moderate, and bloodless at any cost. We think it is urgent, and that it must be successful at any cost. Mommy very depressed and very depressing; I think the idea of John, who is almost reactionary, probably makes her fear intra family strife. It’s a pity that we have to disagree. Anyhow, there is a good chance of the Revolution being both quick and bloodless—but we must be prepared to suppress the reaction. Miserable having to disagree with Mommy. zfl zag zpn zem
